Play233 ("we," "us," or "our") built JollofWords as a free-to-play mobile word puzzle game. This Privacy Policy explains what information the game collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By downloading or playing JollofWords, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

JollofWords can be played without creating an account. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number or any other personal contact details to play.

• Gameplay and progress stored on your device. Your coins, level, streak, words played, daily puzzle result, sound and reminder settings, and the country and language you choose are saved locally on your phone. This stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the game.
• Usage analytics. We collect aggregate information about how the game is used, such as which categories and languages are played, which screens are opened, how rounds finish, and how often players return. This helps us improve content and difficulty. It is collected through Firebase Analytics (see below).
• Device and technical information. Limited information such as device model, operating system version, app version, and approximate region, used to keep the app stable and compatible.
• Advertising and install data. Ads are shown through Google AdMob, and we measure which advertising campaigns lead to installs through AppsFlyer (see below).
• Optional word suggestions. If you choose to suggest a word, the suggestion form is opened in your browser. The words you type and the app version are sent through that form. You decide what to submit.

• To operate, maintain and improve JollofWords
• To diagnose technical problems and fix bugs
• To understand, in aggregate, how the game is played so we can improve content and difficulty across languages and countries
• To show advertising that helps keep JollofWords free to play
• To measure the effectiveness of our own advertising campaigns

Daily reminders (notifications)

Daily reminders are optional and are off until you turn them on from the daily puzzle screen. When you do, your phone asks for permission to show notifications. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device, using your usual play time. They are not sent from our servers and no account is needed. You can turn reminders off in the game or in your phone's settings at any time.

Third-party services

JollofWords uses the following third-party services. They have their own privacy policies, which govern how they handle the information they process.

• Google AdMob serves in-app advertisements and may process limited device and advertising data for ad delivery and measurement. See the Google Privacy Policy and Google's advertising practices.
• Firebase Analytics (Google) provides aggregate usage analytics as described above.
• AppsFlyer provides install attribution, which tells us which of our advertising campaigns led to an install. See the AppsFlyer Privacy Policy.

Tracking permission on iOS

On iPhone and iPad, Apple requires apps to ask your permission before they track you across other companies' apps and websites. JollofWords shows this request. If you decline, the game works the same, and install measurement falls back to Apple's privacy-preserving methods. You can change your choice at any time in your device settings under Privacy & Security.

This website

When you visit jollofwords.com, we use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how people find and use the site: which pages are viewed, which country you are in, which website or link brought you here, and which store button you tapped. Google Analytics uses cookies for this. We do not use it to identify you, we turn off ad personalization and Google signals, and visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are not measured. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services. You can block this with your browser's settings or by installing the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Children's privacy

JollofWords is suitable for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us using the details below so we can address it.

Your choices

• You can uninstall JollofWords at any time, which removes the data stored locally on your device.
• You can turn off reminders in the game or in your phone settings.
• You can limit ad personalization and reset your advertising ID in your phone's settings.
• Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your data under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. Contact us to make a request.

Data security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information JollofWords processes. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as JollofWords evolves. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
